WHAT IS STRIVE?
Strive for College is an innovative college mentoring program that connects motivated, low-income high school students with undergraduate mentors, who guide them through the college application process and into enrollment at four-year universities and colleges, providing them with opportunities and resources to break the cycle of poverty forever.

Bring Strive to Your University

Interested in bringing Strive for College to your college or university?

The steps:

  1. CONTACT Vice President and Director of Operations Ryan Winograd to start the process.
  2. ASSEMBLE a group of students who will serve as your leadership team. They should be dedicated, capable and competent. The Collaborative will provide details that will help you assemble a good team, and will help you shape the leadership of your chapter.
  3. MAKE IT OFFICIAL by applying for student organization status through your college or university. You can also make the chapter official through a service or honors program.
  4. PUBLICIZE the chapter and recruit students to work as undergraduate mentors. The Collaborative will assist you in the process and provide marketing materials and resources to run an effective local publicity effort.
  5. PARTNER with a local high school or nonprofit group or both.
  6. MOVE FORWARD with the Collaborative to implement the chapter, use the Strive curriculum and online database, and mentor your first students.
