WHAT IS STRIVE?
Strive for College is a new approach to correcting the inequalities of college access. Strive recruits undergraduate student mentors from local universities to guide low-income high school students through the process of applying to, enrolling in and paying for four-year colleges and universities. We are a national organization with chapters across the country.

Strive Online

A powerful online platform for mentoring and education that allows students to manage their work and discover new opportunities, allows mentors to guide them and allows Strive for College to collect data, manage results and provide new resources.

Strive Online allows Strive for College to distribute our curriculum, facilitate mentoring, and connect students to new opportunities, all while allowing Strive for College to track progress, improve accountability, and collect feedback at a national scale. Strive’s engaging curriculum, developed by the nation’s top college counselors, and admissions and financial aid experts, is tailored to the individual student based on the student’s academic and personal profile.

Strive for College will offer this curriculum for free to all high school students through our nationwide distribution of Strive Online. Strive Online will allow Strive Mentors, high school counselors, and college admissions officers to instantly view the progress of participating high school students as they work through the Strive curriculum. Notifications can be made if students miss sessions or fail to make sufficient progress. Strive will also be able to view chapters progress as a whole and can therefore easily provide support and guidance to those chapters that need it.

Strive Online will also allow for student tracking post-graduation through involvement as Strive mentors at college or participation in other organizations. Furthermore, the online system allows Strive for College to obtain both qualitative and quantitative feedback from mentors and students, enabling efficient maintenance and improvement of the system, curriculum and program.

Finally, Strive Online will be an open platform, allowing other organizations to benefit from Strive’s powerful and secure back-end data storage system to store their student data and view their student information in a rich and intuitive virtual environment. Organizations will benefit from this network as they will have the ability to share select student information with other organizations who work with the same students, increasing information and ability to track of their students. Palantir, a Silicon Valley startup that is quickly becoming one of the most respected data analysis companies (http://www.palantirtech.com/), has agreed to work with us to develop our technology system.
